What size is a chair bed?

Chair beds are a little smaller than your traditional sofa bed, measuring between 80cm and 84cm in width before the sleeping area is extended. Also referred to as sofa bed chairs and armchair beds, they’re designed to look specifically like a chair or a sofa, meaning they won't look out of place within a living room or spare room.

When the sleeping space is extended, a single chair bed turns into a single bed. Be sure to check the individual product dimensions to ensure there’ll be enough space in the room you plan using your sofa chair bed in.

How do sofa bed chairs work?

Some of our A-Frame sofa beds use a hinge mechanism. This means that the backrest of the sofa will drop down to create a bed. The nature of this sofa chair bed design means you'll have to pull the sofa away from a wall or alcove before dropping the backrest.
