As part of our zero to landfill policy, we’re more than happy to collect and recycle your old bed or mattress, ensuring no part goes to waste.
We’re committed to the environment and make sure that no part of your old bed or mattresses reaches a landfill.
All recyclable materials are reused, and all other waste is turned into green energy.
We’ll provide you with a green bag to wrap your old mattress in before delivery.
Let us handle the heavy lifting with our Room of Your Choice service.
Simply contact us 72 hours before delivery. (Please note: this may affect your delivery date)
We can recycle your goods from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm, depending on your chosen delivery date.
The charges for recycling vary depending on what item you’d like us to take away. If we are delivering to your door, you’ll need to pop your mattress or disassembled bed or furniture components in your entrance hallway ready for collection. Please note, if you have opted for our convenient Room of Your Choice service, there is an additional charge of just £29. This means we’ll collect the mattress or components from your preferred room for this extra fee.
Kids’ beds include bunk beds, high sleepers, mid sleepers, kids’ single beds and toddler beds
To help us to take away your mattress as safely and quickly as possible, we ask you to wrap and seal it in the green bag we’ll send out to you in advance.
It’s super handy if you can have your mattress packaged and ready to be collected in advance. But if you don’t receive your green bag, please don’t worry. Our delivery crew always have a few extra on hand just in case.
If your order is being delivered to your room of choice, our team will collect any items for recycling from the chosen room. If you have opted for our Standard delivery to your doorstep, please make sure the wrapped mattress or dismantled bed frames are ready to collect from your entrance hallway.
The mattress needs to be wrapped, sealed and ready before the delivery team arrives.
The items need to be disassembled and ready for our delivery team to take away. If you’ve selected our handy Room of Your Choice service, we can collect from anywhere in your home. If we are delivering free to your door, we’ll need you to pop your items in your hallway near the front door.
Please bear in mind our team can only remove goods as planned if they have been properly disassembled.
First off, we take apart your mattress. All the different materials are separated and compacted into large bales to help save space when we transport it to other recycling destinations.
We send metal springs to a metal recycling plant where they’re melted down into new light iron products. Polyester padding is used by the fibre blending industry and can be used in various things, even the fillings in pet cushions! The foam in your mattress is sent to a waste-to-energy plant for energy from waste generation, or it can be cleaned and used to make carpet underlay. It’s difficult to recycle mattress covers due to hygiene, so they’re turned into fuel as an alternative to fossil fuels, creating green energy and heat.
We’re constantly working alongside our recycling partner to research and explore new uses for each and every part of your mattress.
If you have yet to place your order, you will find our recycling options in your basket.
If you have already placed your order, contact Customer Services on 0800 652 6750 at least 72 hours before delivery. Adding recycling to your order may affect your delivery date.
