Anything lower than 1000 is considered a low spring rate, and anything between 1500 and 2000 is a high spring rate. Springs can also be layered, such as in mattresses with over 2000 springs, which are ideal for those who prefer a firmer mattress that responds to movement.

Which firmness grade should I choose?

Whilst the number of springs can increase firmness, the firmness grade also depends on how the mattress is constructed.
