What size is a single bed?

A standard UK single bed measures 3ft x 6ft 3in (90cm x 190cm). That's enough room for one adult to sleep comfortably, though it's most popular for children, teenagers and guest rooms. If you're choosing a single bed frame with a headboard or footboard, allow a few extra centimetres when measuring your space.

What is a single bed frame?

A single bed frame is the base your mattress sits on, made up of the slats, the legs or drawers, and often a headboard. These are sold without a mattress. If you need a mattress, you can add one on, or you can take a look at our single beds and mattress sets to make it easier.

What types of single bed frames are available?

Can I get a single bed frame with storage?

Yes, and it's worth considering if floor space is tight. Single storage beds keep clutter out of sight without needing extra furniture.

• Drawer storage sits at the side of the bed frame. Choose from one, two or four drawers depending on how much you need to store.

What materials are single bed frames available in?

Our single beds come in three main materials, each with a different look and feel:

A single is also 30cm narrower than a small double, which can be the difference between a clear walkway and a squeeze.
