Single Beds
Single beds measure 90cm x 190cm (3ft x 6ft 3in), the right size for a child's room, a tidy guest space, or a smaller adult bedroom where every centimetre counts. Our frames cover wooden, upholstered, ottoman and divan options, with built-in storage if you need to make the space work harder.

What size is a single bed?
A standard UK single bed measures 3ft x 6ft 3in (90cm x 190cm). That's enough room for one adult to sleep comfortably, though it's most popular for children, teenagers and guest rooms. If you're choosing a frame with a headboard or footboard, allow a few extra centimetres when measuring your space.
For exact dimensions, see our bed and mattress size guide. If you're working with an awkward room, our home measuring guide walks you through how to measure up properly.
What types of single bed frames are available?
We have single beds to suit different rooms and different needs:
- Single ottoman beds have a lift-up mattress that reveals a full storage area underneath. Brilliant for spare rooms where you need somewhere to stash bedding between guest visits.
- Single divan beds are a classic, sturdy base with the option to add drawers and a headboard. A practical choice that works in most bedrooms.
- Single guest beds include folding beds that tuck away when not in use, and day beds that double as seating during the day. If you're setting up a dedicated guest space, our guide to the best guest beds for small spaces compares the options.
- Single kids' beds range from simple frames to bunk beds, cabin beds and high sleepers with built-in desks or play space.
- Single adjustable beds let you raise the head or foot of the bed at the touch of a button. Useful for anyone who reads or watches TV in bed or needs extra support.
- Single sleigh beds have a curved headboard and footboard that give them a more traditional, finished look. A nice option if you're looking for something with a bit more character.
- Single TV and tech beds come with built-in screens, LED lighting or USB charging ports. Handy for teenagers who love gaming, or anyone who likes watching TV in bed without balancing a laptop on their knees.

Can I get a single bed with storage?
Yes, and it's worth considering if floor space is tight. Storage single beds keep clutter out of sight without needing extra furniture.
- Drawer storage sits at the side of the bed frame. Choose from one, two or four drawers depending on how much you need to store.
- Ottoman storage lifts up to reveal the full area under the mattress. Ideal for bulkier items, such as spare duvets, pillows, and suitcases.
- Shelves and desks come built into cabin beds, mid sleepers and high sleepers. Great for kids' rooms where you want to combine sleeping, studying and storage in one footprint.
Our space saving beds guide explains the different options in more detail. If you're working with a smaller room, our small bedroom layout ideas cover how to arrange furniture so everything fits without the room feeling cramped.
What materials are single bed frames available in?
Our single beds come in three main materials, each with a different look and feel:
- Wooden single beds in pine or oak have a classic, solid feel. They suit most bedroom styles and tend to last well.
- Metal single beds have a slimmer profile and a more contemporary look. They're lightweight and easy to move if you rearrange furniture often.
- Upholstered single beds in fabric or faux leather add softness and warmth. Velvet finishes feel a bit more grown-up; faux leather wipes clean easily, which can be handy in kids' rooms.
What colours are single beds available in?
We have single beds in neutrals like grey, cream and white, plus warmer tones like brown and beige. If you want something bolder, there are options in pink, blue, green and black.
Neutral frames give you the flexibility to change bedding and accessories over time. Coloured frames can be a good way to add personality to a child's room without committing to a full redecoration.

Are single beds comfortable for adults?
Yes. A single bed gives one adult enough space to sleep comfortably. It's a sensible choice if you have a smaller bedroom, live alone, or you're furnishing a guest room where a double would overwhelm the space. If you'd prefer a bit more room to stretch out, a small double (4ft wide) is the next size up.
Can I buy a single bed with a mattress?
Our single beds are sold as frames, but you can add a single mattress to your order. If you'd rather not choose separately, our bed and mattress sets pair frames with mattresses that work well together.
Do you offer delivery and assembly?
Yes. We offer free delivery to your room of choice on all orders. If you'd like us to put the bed together too, our assembly service takes care of it. We can also recycle your old bed when we deliver the new one.
