Is your little one dino-obsessed? Turn their world upside down and transport them back to prehistoric times with a dinosaur bedroom ready for big adventures.
So, it’s time to give your child a bedroom update, and you’re looking for a theme to knock their socks off. Well, if they’re big into dinosaurs, then a dinosaur-themed sleep space is the perfect option to give them a bedroom that’s packed with personality.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to blend playful décor, imaginative furniture, and interactive elements to create the dino bedroom of their dreams. Imagine a personalised space where curiosity can be nurtured and bedtime is actually looked forward to. No, really!
Ready to become the most roar-some parents ever? Let’s dig in…
Starting bold, go all out with an eye-catching mural wall complete with all their favourite dinosaurs! This is an easy way to transform their entire bedroom scheme, with just one big update – and the good news is, you don’t need to be an artist with a paintbrush.
There are plenty of wallpaper mural designs that can be applied to your children’s walls with some trusty wallpaper glue. Simply apply and let the mural do the talking. One small change for a ginormous impact.

Or for a more tasteful approach, how about a more subtle wall design (we use the term ‘subtle’ lightly), with a dinosaur-themed patterned wallpaper. You could even go for a striking half-and-half effect, panelling or painting the bottom half of their bedroom and applying wallpaper to just the top half of the wall, like we’ve done above for our Frankie Velvet-Finish Kids Dino Bed Frame. We love the muted beige paint, which brings harmony to the busy pattern on the wallpaper and ties the whole design together.
Give them a bed they won’t be able to wait to tell their friends at school about. Our Frankie Bed is just the ticket. It’s squishy, comfy, and totally Stegosaurus-coded with its signature spikes and fun colour palette.
Plus, the good news is, the Frankie bed comes with a matching toy box and detachable tail to suit your kids’ room. Simply position the tail on the left or right to best suit the space you have available. Yep, we think about everything here…
Alternatively, how about a high sleeper bed for older kids or siblings who share? Not only do bunk beds provide twice as much sleep space, but there’s also something adventurous about sleeping high up in the canopies! Now they can look out for dinosaurs from up above.
If your child’s current bed isn’t ready for an upgrade just yet (or you want to give the Frankie some extra roar), try dressing up their bed with dinosaur-themed sheets. We’re talking patterned duvets, pillowcases, extra cushions, blankets – the lot! It’s a strong look, but we know your little one’s gonna love it. Whatever helps them sleep, right?
When it comes to colours, green is the natural choice for their dinosaur-centric bedroom. One easy way to add pops of green is through furniture. This could be done with a little DIY job, by repainting existing wooden furniture with child-friendly paint. Or, perhaps a new green armchair (like our squishy Ballymena Armchair in moss green) so you can sink in together and snuggle up to read the latest dinosaur tale. We’re not ones to show favouritism, but we’ve heard The Dinosaur That Pooped series is pretty entertaining…
Does your imaginative adventurer like to pretend their bedroom is a jungle? Help their make-believe come to life with some plush, green carpet to give the effect of grass! Now, they can jump out of bed in the morning and land in their very own overgrown, dinosaur-laden jungle! Just watch out for those sneaky velociraptors jumping out…
Every explorer needs some rest and relaxation! Whether that’s for reading, arts and crafts, or playtime, fuel their imagination with an authentic teepee. Decorate with bunting, fairy lights, perhaps a plastic table to assemble a dino scene, and plenty of squishy cushions, and you’re good to go!
Dinosaurs love greenery. Everybody knows that. Complete your little one’s bedroom jungle with some easy-maintenance houseplants in plastic pots. We’d recommend some large, leafy plants that you may expect to see in prehistoric times, such as Monstera, palms or vining Pothos.
To nail the look, try hanging plant pots from the ceiling (using handy command strip hooks), draped over their high sleeper bed or from a curtain rail. This way, the plants can trail down or even wrap around the furniture for a real jungle-like atmosphere.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a kids’ bedroom without some fuzzy friends. Watch their face light up as they enter their room and see a bundle of their favourite dinosaurs waiting for them on their bed, whether that’s a T-rex, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, or all of the above. Oh, the adventures they’re going to have together…
And this is where you can store them! The Frankie Velvet Finish Dino Storage Box is the perfect place to stash all their fave toys. Plus, it’s a perfect match for our Frankie Bed, so their room is sure to look coordinated as well as clutter-free. Win-win!
It’s time to banish boring, bland bedrooms and create the ultimate dinosaur bedroom of their dreams! With these design tips you can transport your dino-obsessed little one to a magical Jurassic Park land, where every bedtime is an adventure. And the award for best parent and/or caregiver goes to…
