If you’re naturally cautious with colour, or your white walls are in need of a wake up, we’ll show you how to add colour to your white bedroom. Read on for our tips for experimenting with colour combinations and textures.

Luckily, it’s super easy to get started when it comes to colour – be it bedding, furniture or furnishings. You could even get creative by adding a feature wall in a contrast colour, pattern or panelling style, if you’re feeling adventurous.

To help you figure out what’s right for you and your master suite, we’ve collated some of our favourite looks below…

Start with bright and beautiful bedding

Never underestimate the power of some new bedsheets. Switching to some colourful bedding is simple, inexpensive, and oh-so effective.

If you’re itching to get started on adding a splash of colour to your white bedroom, the easiest place to begin is through your bedding. Investing in some bright, colourful bed sheets is the easiest way to transform your space and add a focal point to your room. Especially if you’re renting and you’re limited to what you can change or hang on the wall, beautiful bedding can make all the difference.

We love a bold pattern like stripes or gingham, such as the checkered sheets on our Annika Wooden Bed Frame, here. You could even mix-match your prints on your duvet and pillows for an interesting twist.

To give your bed a 5-star hotel feel, don’t forget to accessorise with matching blankets and throw cushions – you’ll be amazed how put-together your room will look with a few thoughtful details.

Create a feature wall for an interesting focal point

Bored of your white walls? A feature wall could be just the ticket to brightening up your space.

Another way to instantly transform your bedroom is by creating a statement wall behind your bed. Wallpaper is an easy way to do this, as there are tonnes of patterns and colours to choose from, and it can be applied to your wall in a jiffy.

Choose from elegant florals to preppy stripes, or get creative with an enchanting mural scene. We love this modern silver geometric wallpaper, seen in our Yokohama Bed Frame setup, for a cool, contemporary look.

P.S. If you like the idea of a focal point in your bedroom but don’t fancy wallpaper, discover more of our statement wall ideas.

Experiment with neutrals for a white and beige bedroom

White doesn’t have to be paired with a high-contrast colour to make it stylish.

Beige and cream work beautifully with white for a neutral bedroom that’s warm and peaceful looking. Take a look at our Isabella bed frame pictured above; it has a light wood-effect frame in a platform style that’s bang on trend with the popular Japandi look – a hybrid of Japanese and Scandi style.

We’ve styled it in a bedroom with light taupe walls and added pristine white bedding for a simple and natural look. Pops of grey and metallic in the furnishings and ornaments add slight contrast and the Scandinavian style furniture really complements the bed frame.

Add wall panelling for a neutral, natural look

The perfect way to bring the outside in and add style, wall panelling is popular for a reason

Photographed above is our striking Sandy Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame, in a room set against a beautiful green wall panelling. Just look how the room feels so much warmer and cosier, with just a pop of colour.

If you’ve got the freedom to add wall panelling to your room, we’d highly recommend giving it a go. Not only does it add a structural feature to your space, it dials up the colour without having to go overboard. Perfect for those that like a bedroom to feel relaxing and dreamy.
