What are the different types of kids beds?

We have a variety of childrens bed frames available to suit all ages:

Standard bed frames are a classic when it comes to childrens beds as their guaranteed to not go out of style. We offer a wide range of simple bed frames which are available in single, Euro single and double sizes. Some standard bed frames also offer storage spaces in their bases.

Cabin & desk beds can encompass a bed, cupboards, shelves and desk all in one unit. The bed is elevated, with a ladder to climb up and down and storage furniture neatly underneath. These are available in the mid sleeper and high sleeper options.

Bunk beds are always a crowd favourite as they offer have space for two children to sleep, whether that's for siblings or sleepovers. With either a traditional or modified ladder, these beds are perfect for children who share a room. They also come with storage options including shelves and drawers.

High sleepers are suitable for older children, a high sleeper is an elevated bed and accessible by a ladder. High sleepers are great teenager beds as they provide space underneath to sleep, work and store items. Highsleepers are one of the best kids beds with storage.

Mid sleepers are ideal for children aged 6+ who have small rooms and not a lot of storage options. You can store toys, clothing, books and games underneath the bed and can also come with a desk option.

Toddler beds are perfect for your little one after they have outgrown their cot. They have rounded edges to stop any bumping of heads on sharp edges. They are also designed lower to the ground than other bed styles and have raised side panels to stop your child from rolling out.

What are the different sizes of kids beds and mattresses?

Children's beds are available in four different sizes for kids at different ages:

Toddler beds are suitable for children aged 2 years old or 3 years old who have outgrown a cot but aren't yet ready for a single bed. Toddler mattresses are 70cm in width and 140cm in length. This will usually last your child until they are around 4-5 years old.

Single beds are the most popular size for children's beds as they are suitable for ages 4 and older. A single mattress is 90cm in width and 190cm in length. Most bunk beds, high sleepers and mid sleepers also carry single mattresses.

The difference between single beds and Euro single beds is that Euro single beds are 10cm longer. These mattresses are 90cm in width and 200cm in length. Our kids Euro single beds are all mid sleeper or bunk bed styles which are more suited to older children and teens.

A double bed will last your child long into adult hood. The mattresses for a double bed are 135cm in width and 190cm in length.

How safe are kids beds?

Our children’s beds are crafted with safety in mind through a variety of features. For example, high barriers or ladders with extra foot room on bunk beds, mid sleepers, or high sleepers. Toddlers beds especially are lower to the floor and ensure soft edges throughout the frame to avoid any injuries.
