What’s your earliest sporting memory?

Kelly Holmes winning double gold in Beijing.

 

Who’s your sporting hero?

Serena Williams.

 

Any advice to the younger you?

Don’t look at setbacks as failures, but opportunities to learn.

 

What’s the one piece of advice you have for someone following in your footsteps?

Believe in yourself. If you don’t, no one else will.

 

What is your go-to breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Breakfast: Porridge. Lunch: Eggs. Dinner: Steak, sweet potatoes and salad.

 

Favourite snack?

Oat cakes.

 

Midnight snacks?

Definitely don’t have those. I should be asleep at midnight!

 

How does what you eat change when you are in the build-up to a competition?

In competitions, I don’t allow myself treats.

 

If you weren’t an elite athlete what would you be?

Fat!

 

What would your super power be?

I’d love to fly.

 

What’s top of your bucket list?

Diving in the Galapagos Islands.

 

What’s your greatest disappointment?

Not being part of the 2012 Olympic squad.

 

Do you have a pet?

A dog – Willow.

 

How do you relax?

Walking Willow.

 

When did you first believe you could be an Olympian?

Not until the whistle started our opening game in Rio 2016.

 

Do you have any superstitions?

I used to have loads, now it’s just three: Half a can of Red Bull before a game; three tuck jumps at the top of the circle and listening to certain songs during warm-up.

 

Your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate. I love chocolate.

 

What’s your proudest moment?

2016. Winning Olympic gold.

 

What’s your dream achievement outside of the Olympics?

A happy and healthy life.
