What size is a small single bed?

A small single bed is around 2ft 6in in width and 6ft 3in in length, which is why it is often referred to as a 2 ft 6 bed. However, the exact dimensions will depend on the small single bed frame you choose, and any additional headboards or footboards added. Make sure to check the sizing of the specific small single bed frame you’re purchasing when measuring your space.

Is a small single bed suitable for an adult?

Yes- at 6 ft 3 in long (190cm), a small single bed is long enough to fit an adult. Although they are 25cm narrower than a standard UK single bed, there is still enough room for an adult to sleep comfortably. Small single beds are well-suited for those who don’t need to spread out too much and provide an affordable option that can free up some floor space in smaller rooms. They also make a great option for children’s bedrooms and guest rooms.

Our small single beds are designed to hold a small single mattress only. Due to their slightly different size, they are too small for any other mattress size. Our foldable small single beds come with a built-in e-fibre mattress to save you the hassle and money. These 5cm thick mattresses are made with recycled materials and add a cushioned layer of comfort to your small single bed to create a relaxing sleep environment that can be easily put away after use.
