What size a single headboard?
All single bed headboards are 3ft wide as a minimum, to match the size of a single mattress. It's important that a single headboard is at least the same size as your mattress to ensure it fits properly. 3ft single headboards require a fixing hole distance of 60cm (2') for secure attachment to your bed.

How do you fit a single bed headboard?
There are various options when it comes to fitting your single bed headboard:
Floor-standing
These single headboards are full length, starting from the floor and rising beyond the top of your bed, making them a great option for a statement piece. Floor-standing single headboards are screwed into a divan base or bedframe, and they are one of the sturdiest types of headboards.
Struts
These attach to your bed frame with screws, similar to floor-standing. The only difference? They're not full length. Instead, they use struts. These are pieces of sturdy material which attach to both your bed and single headboard. Strutted single headboards are a good choice for smaller bedrooms because they take up less space.
Wall-mounted
If the head of your bed is against a wall, you can choose a wall-mounted headboard. Usually, they're attached by hooking a cleat plate, on the back of the headboard, over a cleat screwed to the wall.
