McRaven said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If you make your bed every morning you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Making your bed will reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter, and if by chance you have a miserable day you will come home to a bed that is made.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, don\u2019t take for granted the act of bed making. Plus, having a tidy bed will only point out other places in your room that may be lacking finesse. This will spur you on to give the place a good clean and de-clutter if it\u2019s needed.<\/p>\n<p>You probably spend a lot of money on your bedding, duvets, pillows and accessories. Leaving it in a big heap on the bed isn\u2019t doing it any favours. <span style=\"color: #f179a7;\"><a style=\"color: #f179a7;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.goodhousekeeping.com\/home\/cleaning\/tips\/a25816\/reasons-to-make-your-bed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Good Housekeeping<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u2019s cleaning lab director, Carolyn Forte says that making your bed keeps your bedding looking newer for longer. Fluffing your pillows and cushions plus straightening out duvets and sheets reduces wrinkles and helps them keep their shape.<\/p>\n<p>A tidy bedroom also affects your mood as it&#8217;s a calming and inviting environment. In fact, participants in a <span style=\"color: #f179a7;\"><a style=\"color: #f179a7;\" href=\"http:\/\/ghk.h-cdn.co\/assets\/cm\/15\/11\/550007c4d2769_-_NSF_Bedroom_Poll_Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>National Sleep Foundation poll<\/strong><\/a><\/span> said they got a good night\u2019s sleep most nights when they made their bed every day.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, <span style=\"color: #f179a7;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #f179a7;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcentral.com\/article\/is-your-messy-bed-destroying-your-sleep\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health Central<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>says that \u2018messy rooms can negatively impact sleep.
