Small Single Headboards
If you have a small room, or a young child upgrading to their first bed, a small single headboard will compliment all scenarios. Available in a range of fabrics to suit your aesthetic.
Small single beds are most useful in small guest rooms or bedrooms for young children and teenagers. There’s no better way to complete the look and feel of your bedroom than with a headboard to frame the top of your bed. Luckily, there are plenty of styles of small double headboards for you to choose from.
Why should I get a small single headboard?
Headboards are useful for multiple reasons and, just because you have a small room, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the same benefits as with a ny regular single or larger bed. Many people worry that having a small double headboard on their bed will make the room fee l overcrowded or too dramatic. In fact, it does the opposite, as it frames the bed properly and draws the eye to a focal point, making the room feel larger.
The difference between a single and a small single headboard is the width, with the latter measuring six inches narrower at 2'6 wide. A lot of people choose this size when moving their child from a toddler bed to their first full-sized bed. Headboards protect the wall behind, stop pillows from falling down the back of the bed, and create a more comfortable, secure sleeping environment. We offer a range of small single upholstered fabric, meaning they are comfortable to lean on for bedtime stories or when relaxing in bed. Give your guests a lovely lie in with an upholstered fabric headboard to rest their head on.
Which style of small single headboard should I choose?
The style and shape of the headboard you choose will depend on your room décor and who the headboard will be used by . Here are some things to consider:
Is it for a child’s bedroom?
While it’s perfectly safe for your child to have an upholstered headboard on their bed, you'll probably want to consider the fabric you choose to have it in. Opting for faux leather ensures that you have a wipe-clean surface for any unwanted sticky finger marks. If you would prefer fabric over faux leather, opt for a darker colour to ensure you won't need to replace or clean it as often.
What style of room do you have?
Headboards are functional, but they can also be a major design piece within your room if you want them to be. Whether you set a romantic vibe or a chic, minimalist look will depend on which one you choose. Buttoned headboards like the Fairfield are perfect for vintage, luxury style bedrooms, while the plain Newark headboard would look better amongst a more simplistic setting. Panelled styles like the Stamford and Columbia will look beautiful in a country cottage or nautical themed bedroom.
What style of bed do you have?
Most of our headboards fit onto regular divan bases in a small single size. However, some of our styles are designed specifically for adjustable beds, meaning they won’t fit on to a regular divan. Ensure you pick the right one when browsing through our selection.
Will it be used every day or is it for a spare room?
If you're choosing a style for yours or your child's bedroom, you'll want to ensure it’s comfortable and fits the décor brief as mentioned. Some of our adjustable style headboards, like the Tramore and Clancy, are taller than other styles, so if you like sitting up to read in bed or spend more time in bed due to illness, these might be a better option for you. If the headboard will be in a spare room, a plain style may be your preferred choice as it will fit with any decoration, even if you want to change it.
