This substantial growth has enabled Dreams to surpass the double milestone of 150 stores and £150m of gross sales in the year it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The impressive figures have been driven by a significant increase in sales orders, the introduction of new product lines and an incredible 31 store openings during 2006, all of which have been pivotal in helping Dreams buck the market trend. The store openings include 15 branches in existing territories, six branches in northwest England, plus the acquisition of eight branches in Scotland from Off to Bed. Dreams also strengthened its manufacturing capability by opening a massive 84,000 sq ft bed factory in the Midlands, the largest furniture manufacturing facility to open in the UK in recent years.
Chief Executive of Dreams, Mike Clare, says: “2006 has proved to be yet another spectacular year for Dreams, with impressive growth and a strategically planned store opening programme. This couldn’t have been achieved without the hard work of our ever growing Dream Team and the continued support of our suppliers. We have made a very strong start to 2007 and with 25 planned store openings we are sure 2007 will be our biggest and best yet.”
