The twenty seven stores opened this year span the UK, from Sittingbourne in Kent to East Kilbride in Scotland and have enabled Dreams to consolidate its position in its existing heartland. This is an extraordinary achievement considering the number of businesses in Europe totals more than 25 million! The prestigious list which is compiled annually by Europe’s 500 and is supported by both Microsoft and KPMG, ranks companies across Europe on Chairman of Dreams, Mike Clare, says: “The next few weeks are going to be an exciting and challenging time at Dreams, opening 10 stores in 10 weeks is no mean feat but this is nothing new for Dreams and I’m confident that we’ll be on track to hit our target by the end of the year and put us in the strongest ever position as we go into the new year’’.
2007 has been a momentous and yet another record breaking year for Dreams. Sales will have grown by some 29% to over £200m and profits more than doubled to an all-time high of £15m. Over 200 new jobs will have been created resulting in a total workforce of over 1,400 and for the second year running Dreams has been officially classified as the UKs fastest growing furniture retailer.
