CUSTOMER SERVICE FAQ

I can use a keyboard and I know my way around a PC. But what happens if I can’t get to grips with some of the technology?

First and foremost, we’re looking for people with good communication and interpersonal skills. If you’ve got basic PC skills, our training will do the rest.

I’ve heard customer service departments can be really target driven. Is this true?

We’ve got targets to meet, but we’re more focused on providing high quality, world-class customer service than simply making sure we answer a certain number of calls each day. You have lots of opportunities to get away from your desk and away from the phones too - so you should never feel as though we’re placing unreasonable demands on you.

What are the working hours like? Will I have to work Saturdays and Sundays or is there some flexibility?

We have a variety of shift patterns to suit most working patterns; however like all good service providers it's important that we're available when our customers need us. That means a lot of our shifts include a combination of evenings or weekends.

I like working in a sociable environment. I’m worried working in a headset all day will leave me feeling isolated.

Never fear. Dealing with call after call can be draining. So every contact centre has break out areas where you can relax and chat. We also make sure that your day has some variety. For example, some training or a one-to-one can also give you some time away from your desk.

What happens if I make a mistake will training be provided?

We’re only human and we all make mistakes every now and again. So we won’t mind. But we will make sure you’ve got the training you need to avoid making that mistake again. If you still need time to regain your confidence, your Team Managers can listen in on calls, help you out and step in with difficult queries.

Do you recruit students?

Yes, in some roles. We often have opportunities to work part-time to fit around your study or on short-term contracts such as in summer holidays or over Christmas.
