Our first venture into this area dates back as far as 1995, when we introduced a unique old bed and mattress collection and recycling service. In the last year alone, we have collected and recycled over a staggering 24,000 beds and mattresses.
The bed frames, springs and other metallic items are melted down and re-used in the manufacturing of new products. The wooden bed frames are turned into mulch for multiple uses including; chipboard manufacture, landscaping, children's play areas and many more. The cardboard and paper in turn is converted into new cardboard or paper, the polythene is reconstituted to create new polythene or plastic products and fabric cut offs are used to make building insulation materials. |
